Value Proposition
The one-sentence explanation of why someone should choose you over doing nothing, or choosing a competitor.
The one sentence that decides if they stay
A visitor lands on your page. In about 3 seconds, their brain runs one query: "what is this and should I care?" If they can't answer both, they leave.
Your value proposition is the one-sentence answer you give them. It's the most important thing you'll ever write for your business, and most founders waste it on something vague and branded.
What it is, and isn't
A value prop is NOT:
• Your tagline ("Think different.")
• Your mission statement ("Empowering teams to work smarter.")
• Your brand positioning ("The modern CRM.")
A value prop IS:
• The specific transformation you deliver
• Named for the people who want it
• Specific enough that a competitor couldn't use the same line
Think: "For [specific audience], [specific outcome] without [common pain]."
10 real examples that work

Slack: "Where work happens."
Notion: "One workspace. Every team."
Figma: "The design platform for teams who build products together."
Webflow: "The no-code website platform for teams and businesses."
Calendly: "Easy scheduling. Ahead."
Linear: "The issue tracking tool you'll enjoy using."
Vercel: "Your complete platform for the web."
Cal.com: "Scheduling infrastructure for absolutely everyone."
PageStrike: "The AI landing page builder with 6 specialized goals."
Notice: none of them try to be clever. They all commit to being specific about who they're for and what they do.
